- Originally, the St. Patrick's Day color was a lighter shade of blue. However the green and the clover appeared during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 spreading to spread to uniforms. Ireland is also known for beautiful lush green fields and the blue theme was abandoned.
- Ironically, the first St. Patrick's day parade was held in the U.S. and not in Ireland. In 1762, Irish soldiers that served with the English army celebrated the festival by marching through the streets of New York City.
- Some foods involved in the celebration of St. Patricks Day include, Corned Beef, Shepard's Pie, Irish Soda Bread, and Cabbage dishes. These are all traditional Irish meals served on St. Patrick's Day!
- The shamrock is a common symbol for St. Patrick's Day. The three leaves represent the Holy Trinity, however, if you ever find a clover with four leaves, the fourth leaf is what brings you luck!
